Join us in celebrating National Cat Day… for a full week!

In celebration of National Cat Day on October 29th, generous donors will match your donations to our three primary priorities: cat rescue/fosters, The Scratching Post, and Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR), doubling your impact on helping cats in our local area! Each priority has matching donor(s) willing to give up to $2,000 to match your generosity, for a total of up to $6,000 in matching funds we’ll receive with your help! To understand what we’re able to do with your support, learn more about some of the cats we’ve helped in 2024. And of course, we’ll also have some fun along the way…

Don’t delay, these matches are only available through November 4th, so time is of the essence.

Progress to the full match for fosters.

Cherished Cats and The Scratching Post Cat Cafe have found homes for more than 2,000 cats since 2017, a feat that would be impossible without our AMAZING fosters. It also requires an incredible amount of food, litter and other supplies, as well as veterinary care. Your donation in support of our rescue work and fosters will be doubled through 11/4 thanks to the generosity of the Kline family.

Progress to the full match for the cafe.

The Scratching Post Cat Cafe opened in December of 2017 as the first cat cafe in our region. Thousands of visitors have come through our doors to enjoy time with the cats, and more than 830 cafe cats have met their forever family at the cafe. Your donation in support of The Scratching Post Cat Cafe will be doubled through 11/4 thanks to the generosity of matching donors Jane Miller & Gwen Johnson, and Glenda Sheaffer!

Progress to the full match for TNR.

Perhaps the most unassuming but important part of our work is our support of trap/neuter/release (TNR) in our local area. On average we support the TNR of 250-300 cats annually, which represents THOUSANDS of kittens not born to suffer struggling to live outside. Your donation in support of our TNR work will be doubled through 11/4 thanks to generous donations from the Mack family, Ann Kaye and an anonymous donor!

Before you go- check out all the other fun we have planned:

Find the Cat- from 10/29 through 11/2 there will be an embroidered orange cat (see pic) hidden in select downtown Lewisburg establishments. Find it and turn it in at the register for a certificate good for two free visits to The Scratching Post!

Late Night at the Cafe- on 11/1, The Scratching Post will be open from 5P-8P for some evening kitty snuggles. The usual admission fee will be waived and donations will be accepted- both monetary and items from our wish list.

Kitties at the Library- on 11/2 visit the Public Library for Union County between 10A-12P to enjoy some kitten time.

Throughout the week select participants (including donors, social media commenters, and event attendees) will be randomly selected to win a variety of prizes, including pet portraits from Richard Bonham, gift certificates to the Lewisburg Deli, and swag from The Scratching Post.

And who knows what else we have up our paws?
